Rating Juniorized Parts

You may be familiar with the term "Juniorized", as in a LEGO set that's been intentionally designed for younger or less skilled builders. Often, AFOLs are looking for sets that aren't as Juniorized. We typically seek out LEGO sets that have smaller, less pre-fab elements, which are more versatile.

What we're trying to do here is attempt to get a vauge idea of just how Juniorized a LEGO set is. And to do so, we're aiming to establish a score for various elements to come up with some overall metrics. In order to get a better consensus, we're asking for your help in doing so.

The score we're using is a numeric score for each element, which is intended to indicate "how many pieces do you feel this piece should be made out of?" For instance, you could construct a 1x2x5 brick out of 5 separate 1x2 bricks, so you might score it as a 5 (a bit Juniorized). But a 1x4 plate probably isn't Juniorized at all, so you'd score it as a 1.

Keep in mind that not all elements can be built exactly out of other elements. A cylinder panel or large octagonal "cockpit base" can't really be built out of individual parts, but if you were at LEGO designing these elements out of new ones in a non-Juniorized way, how many pieces would you use? Maybe it's still just 1 piece, or maybe it's several.

Some things are very subjective. You might find a pre-fab horse element Juniorized, and would instead prefer a brick-built horse. Or maybe you'd prefer the legs, tail, and head to still be sculpted, but be separate buildable elements. Or maybe you don't think a pre-fab horse is Juniorized at all! That's totally fine. In part, we're also looking to see how much consensus there is among AFOLs about what they feel is Juniorized and what isn't.

We've selected a small group of parts to analyze, mostly related to castle sets. If you can help rate them, that'd be great! Don't worry if you don't score them all (they'll be given to you in random order), we'll still use the data we get.

Thanks for the help!
